Who Tehrol are

A shading specialist from Komenda. Manufacture and installation of roller shutters, external venetian blinds, screen roller blinds, interior shading, awnings, pergolas, insect screens and roller garage doors, with automation. Around 33 employees and 6.3 million euros in revenue.

The problem

The website rebuild had to cover almost the entire product portfolio at once. Shading does not sell on how it looks against a white background but on how it sits on a house, how it is operated and what options it has; photographing every build on every building is not feasible, because there are no reference houses carrying all the products at the same time.

One house, the whole portfolio

Instead of eight separate shoots, one house built and one set of cameras. Every product in the portfolio sits on the same building, in the same light and the same season, so on the site they read as a family rather than as eight unrelated images. The same scene also yields the interior, the view of the whole house and the artwork for large-format print, rendered at 12000 × 7442 pixels.

Four films, two formats, three languages

Roller shutters, external venetian blinds, screen roller blinds and pergolas each got their own film: seven and a half minutes in total, each finished in a horizontal and a square format and in Slovenian, English and German. The films show not the product but the decisions a buyer has to make — recessed or surface-mounted box, ZIP or classic system, the openness of the fabric, the RAL colour of the profile, a crank handle, a switch, a remote or automation. A version without captions exists for every film, so it can be translated further without re-rendering.

Pergolas

Four configurators, layer by layer

A configurator does not need one image of a product but all of its layers separately, so it can assemble them into the chosen combination. For the pleated blinds we delivered 644 renders: wall and roof window, single- and double-sided, with translucent, semi-translucent, blackout, decorative and duet fabrics, plus the brackets and the space around them. The pergola is rendered by layer and in day and night builds, the insect screens in four types × colours × mesh. Measuring graphics go with them, because a buyer cannot take the dimensions themselves. The recording below is assembled the way the configurator assembles: the same room, the same bracket, only the fabric layer changes — all 138 in a row.
